During a three month study abroad, my class and I spent two weeks creating a collaborative mural at the Syracuse Soccer stadium. We all worked together to create a cohesive piece that represents the community and their spirit. I chose to paint two clasping hands to display the deep connection between the fans and this team. Our group learned quickly that the soccer stadium is the heart of Syracuse where everyone comes together. The dark and light can simultaneously represent yin and yang, the symbol for peace. I chose a simplistic composition so that the focus would be drawn to the strong connection this community has.
